LITTLEJOHN BATHROOMS CASE STUDIES

A CALMING SANCTUARY

OVERVIEW: This client wanted a shower in this compact bathroom within their beautiful, listed property.

RESULT: Our designer took note of the artistic tastes of the client and picked the pink hues from these works within their bedroom, to link the ensuite bathroom seamlessly using Ca Pietra rose coloured brick tiles. The room only had a head height of 2.1m, but with clever plumbing we were able to keep the shower tray level with the floor, to give enough height for a shower. The white marble affect field tiles and painted walls keep things light, whilst the wall mounted Villeroy & Boch Subway 3.0 sanitaryware create a perception of space. Finally, oak Karndean flooring gives a warm background feel whilst also tying in with the period feel of the property.

HOTEL CHIC

OVERVIEW: A luxurious hotel style en-suite, family bathroom and cloakroom was the brief from this customer.

RESULT: To add luxury to this room, our designer used Samuel Heath Landmark brassware in their beautiful City Bronze finish. The Drench shower door, with its Crital effect framework sits perfectly with the leadlight windows in this 1930’s home. A bespoke oak vanity unit, designed in house, creates a unique focal point. The veining of the marble effect tiles is picked out by the complementing colour of the metro tiles. Little Green wallpaper and paint completes the luxe feel.

LUXURIOUS EN-SUITE

OVERVIEW: This customer really wanted the basin furniture and mirror to be the star of the show and what a result!

RESULT: A custom-made mirror, fitted with elegant lighting really maximises the feeling of space and light, and the vanity unit really delivers on storage space without being bulky. The addition of subtle LED lighting under the unit adds a feeling of cosiness and further enhances the feeling of space. Matching white marble wall and floor tiles provide an atmosphere of relaxation and airiness. This room really shows what can be achieved with a fresh, paired-back colour palette and some carefully chosen finishing touches.

WE LIKE A CHALLENGE!

OVERVIEW: This amazing property is created from an old converted brickworks complete with the old round brick kiln.

RESULT: Curved walls aren’t easy to work with in any room, but for a bathroom it takes clever design work to make use of the space.  In this instance, our designer created a “floating wall” in front of the curve to allow a flat space for the basin, vanity unit and mirror to be mounted. The curved wall itself was tiled in Porcelanosa stone mosaics and then the floating wall was backlit to set everything off. A Waters bath with its seamless integrated panel combines with the brushed black chrome Axor brassware to continue the high level of design detail that this room contains, with our in-house installation teams amazing workmanship bringing it all together.

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

OVERVIEW: These clients were looking to make a statement with their family bathroom and we accepted the challenge!

RESULT: Using Ca Pietra hexagonal black and white floor tiles gave the room a stand out background, on which the rest of the room was set. Plain white vertical brick style tiles give a neutral canvas for the Walnut vanity unit and Coalbrook brushed black chrome brassware to sit against. Finally, painting the walls and ceiling a blue that is virtually black creates an amazing atmospheric feel to the space, which is lit subtly by the Astro LED light fittings.

MAKING A STATEMENT

OVERVIEW: With limited space, some reconfiguration was needed to achieve the customer’s vision of an individual, uncluttered design.

RESULT: By reducing the width of the airing cupboard doorway in the bathroom, and removing an existing bath, a shower could be positioned along the left wall. This created space to move the basin from its original location under the window to the adjacent wall, thus allowing for a mirror cabinet, which was high on our customers wish list. The biggest feature of the room are the patterned tiles, which provide splash of colour and personality as you enter and the dark wood of the vanity unit adds that bit of warmth and contrast.
